Referee : Bobby Madden
Assistants : Graham McNeillie and Daniel McFarlane

THE MANAGER : John Robertson

“The big fixtures just keep coming. We’ve had big matches of late, Falkirk was big on Saturday, as was Dundee on Tuesday. At this stage of the season, the games become six-pointers, if we win then we go within seven points of Dundee Utd but, they’ll want to strengthen the gap because they’ve been poor recently by their high standards.”

“Obviously they strengthened in the window and did so again on deadline day, by bring in Gillespie from Hamilton. We understand what we’re up against but if we can continue the general form we’ve had of late and play the way we can, then there’s no reason why we can’t win this match.”

“In this league, you can go through runs where you are winning matches, picking up points and move up the league very quickly but there’s other times where you look around and think each fixture is tougher, tougher and tougher. United had a shock result against Falkirk a few weeks back, they steadied the ship with a draw at Dunfermline and they’ve just lost to Morton, so they’ll have a look at these fixtures and think it’s been a tough run for them to come through.”

“Csaba Lazlo is always well organised, he’s tactically astute so we look forward to that. We have to take advantage of what we feel is good run of form from just, despite us not winning this week and that’s not to say our performances have been poor because they’ve been decent, but we just need to get that killer instinct we had about a month ago.”

United come into the game looking to get back to winning ways, after falling to a 3-0 home defeat against Morton last weekend. United, in recent weeks, have lost ground on leaders St Mirren, and now trail the Buddies by 11 points in the Championship table.

United managed to bring in Grant Gillespie from Hamilton Accies on deadline day, and have signed five players this month with Craig Slater, Brandon Mason, Emil Lyng, and Thomas Mikkelsen also coming in. Scott McDonald is United’s top scorer this season with nine goals to his name.

Jake Mulraney is suspended after his red card against Falkirk, Connor Bell is a doubt with a hip injury and Nathan Austin and Carl Tremarco will remain out with hamstring injuries.

George Oakley had the following to say in the build-up to the match: “Every game is important, we haven’t a good week with the loss on Saturday, we went down to ten men quite early making it hard for ourselves and we went out of the cup on Tuesday.”

“I don’t think we’ve had the best of weeks, but that’s behind us now. From Saturday against Dundee Uts, we’re saying to ourselves to start again, get our winning momentum back and finish the rest of the season on a high.”
