Inverness look to continue their push towards the play-off positions as they entertain Dumbarton at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. The Caley Jags come into the game on a run of seven matches unbeaten and fresh from beating Falkirk 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Referee: Gavin Duncan Assistants: Alastair Mather and Kevin Lindsay

The Manager

John Robertson

“I firstly must congratulate the players for getting us to this point where we’re still in the mix. We looked at little targets, the homes and the couple of games after that, we looked at Queens and Falkirk games and got maximum points.

“Now, we look at the double header against Dumbarton and if we can win both then we can set up an incredibly exciting last week of the season. As it stands, it’s in our own hands as we know that if we win our remaining games then we will finish in the play-offs. That’s the long-term target but the initial target is to win the home match against Dumbarton and prepare to go down to their place to try and win again.

“All three matches against Dumbarton have had a single goal in, they won 2-1 down there and we won 1-0 up here and 1-0 in the cup. There’s nothing in it and they’ll feel they have a real opportunity, they’ve rebounded from the cup final defeat and have put in some good displays.

“They’ve been a bit unlucky the other night against Morton, it looked as if they had grabbed a point but Morton scored late. They had a terrific win, in a double header, against Dundee Utd. They lost 2-0 away, then turned United over 3-2. That’s the danger and why people don’t like double headers, but it was the only way we could fit it in. What we’ve got to do is to concentrate on the home game first, win that match, and then travel down to Renfrewshire and see where we are from there.”

The Opponent

Dumbarton currently occupy the relegation play-off zone, with them trailing Falkirk by eight points in the table. Dumbarton have been on a run of poor from recently, with just one win in their last six games. However, that win was an impressive 3-2 victory against Dundee Utd thanks to a double from Craig Barr and a goal from Callum Gallagher.

Team News

Coll Donaldson, Charlie Trafford and Carl Tremarco are suspended for the match.
