ICTFC return to league action as they travel to the Falkirk Stadium, after their 3-0 win over Peterhead in the IRN-BRU Cup.

Goals from Liam Polworth, Riccardo Calder and, the new youngest goal scorer in the club’s history, Daniel Mackay, earned ICTFC a place in the quarter finals, which will be against this weeks opponents Falkirk but at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.

THE MANAGER

John Robertson has said the following the build up to match: "We’re looking forward to the match, we had a couple of clean sheets and a good victory over Peterhead, we want to continue that and keep going.”

"We want to continue that run where we can be confident enough to defend well when we have to and also go forward, create chances and score goals which we have been doing in the majority of our matches this season."

"We have a particularly hard run of games coming up and that starts with Falkirk away, who have a new manager. But, we’ll go down there with confidence and play the way we are capable of playing, we can cause the opposition problems and that’s what we want to do."

"We’ve heard of the famous managerial bounce and the effect it can have sometimes. Alex Smith has gone in and steadied the ship by getting them two important wins. Like ourselves, they got two clean sheets and that's what you need to win games, it makes it a hell of a lot easier when you’re not having to score 2/3/4 goals to win a football match."

"Paul will come in and he’s vastly experienced, he’ll have worked with his team all this week. It gives us a dilemma, will he change to a system he prefers or will he keep it, as they say “if it isn’t broken don’t fix it”. Their players will be up for it to show their new manager what they are about, but they will also be buoyed by the fact they’ve won their last two matches without conceding."

THE OPPONENT

Falkirk meet ICTFC for the second time this season, with the Bairns running out 2-0 winners in the game earlier in the season between the sides thanks to goals from Joe McKee and Nathan Austin.

However, Falkirk couldn’t build on that result going into the new season and they now have a new manager in Paul Hartley after Peter Houston was dismissed.

Saturday will be Hartley’s first match as Falkirk manager, with Alex Smith taking the last two games and coming away with two wins against Morton and Dunfermline.
